My first therapy session was in middle school. I was attached at the hip to my two best friends since preschool; Becca and Lindsey - and Becca was moving away. She was moving an hour and a half from our hometown - which in middle school - felt like she moving to the other side of the world. Our parents thought it would be a good idea to do group therapy to help with the transition of her moving. Maybe it did help - maybe it didn't - all I remember is making vision boards with my two best friends
I bought my first house in Nashville in 2020 - it was May, the world was very much shut down - and I moved into a beautiful neighborhood in the Bellevue area. Being in the very early stages of a global pandemic there weren't any neighbors that stopped by to welcome you to the neighborhood. In fact it was in that phase where even walking on the neighborhood sidewalks people would move to the road to let you pass so we didn't walk too close to each other - wild times.

When I think about a shadow I used to think of a dark mirror image of whatever item is being hit with the sun or a light. Like a fall tree for example; the shadow appears to be the black and white copy of a illuminated tree with orange and yellow leaves, standing in the sun. But a shadow actually isn’t the black and white version of anything at all - in fact it brings out its own colors, outlines and uniqueness that adds to whatever item you’re focusing on.
